After a longer-than-anticipated delay in the designing of my website (due to vacation followed by the flu), I finally plunged back into it last night. Tired of looking at the basic site that I created with yahoo’s wizard, even though it was just temporary, I decided to scrap it and start afresh with Adobe GoLive. So far all I have is the header with a lovely little note, which says “Coming soon!” Yes, there is quite the large learning curve, even though I know a lot about the rest of the Adobe Creative Suite. See my header here and let me know what you think.
In the meantime, I’m working on dreaming up a logo for myself! I’ve got a few ideas, but I need something sharp, fun, young and unique!

Having a blog up and running… having a blog that I finally like up and running is doing wonders for my motivation and I promise to have my website up… er… at least in some serious progress by this weekend.
In the meantime, I’ve been obsessed with black & white photography. I took a photo of my sister from her recent high school grad and played with it a bit in photoshop. It’s stunning, if I can just say…. Take a look:

“The Page,” as I fondly refer to it, is now UP! It’s just temporary, as I build something a little more spectacular, but it says the basics… what will come, who I am, and so on. Is it strange that it’s a little exciting? My goals for the blog, as I continuously work on The Page will be to recount my experiences with writing, getting paid for my writing, hunting for photo ops, toying with the photoshop, and playing around with design & graphics.
Yesterday I completed a business card for my first graphics client. Sure, it’s for my good friend Alana, and her jewelry and clothing business, but it’s still sure enough my client! She named her company Allives (for her initials: A.L.L. and her love of martinis & olives), so I did an afternoon olives photo shoot for her, and because she loves modern-y, funky artwork, I touched up one of the best photos with the art history brush in order to make it look more oil-painting-ish. Welcome any random readers to the very first post of my very first professional website! Of course, the blog isn’t quite up considering the website isn’t yet up, but you will be the first to know when it is! This blog will serve to track my successes (okay, and failures) at an attempt to become self-employed, slowly I’m sure, over the next few years. Seeing as how I have an enthusiastic love for photography, writing, graphics and design, I (along with many of my favorite people) thought that I should try to make a life of it for myself.
This is my story…
